Following on from 'Collection 100', in our visual language groups we started individually analysing the source material gathered together from our personal research, using the most relevant word, fact and statistic to correspond with our set of pictures. Turning over our own response to this, we upped seats to repeat the task, this time with our peers work. The response I received was positive, strongly matching my own interpretation of the material I had collected.
This is where the brief really started to come together. As I was looking at quite run-down, industrial areas for my photography I had been placed with other members of our group that had similar photos and source material. Derelict, abandoned, unused, unsightly, industrial and urban areas were the general theme we had managed to capture so beautifully in our research.
Our group consisted of; Kirsty Fruin, Matt Tucker, Beth Yates, Sarah Pritchard, Will Cotterill and Dom Rugman (myself). After getting together and collating all of our source material, it was easy to see a strong theme running throughout. We just had to take it somewhere...
