19.1.11

Organising information,
graphic representation.

For the sake of this task we used 4 rather random points and gathered 5 pieces of information for each. From here we looked at documenting them across a timeline using symbols to represent their place.
It started off as a rather dull exercise, taking boring information and displaying in quite a boring way...

Nonetheless, it did start to become more visually engaging when the timeline was abolished and all the symbols started to bunch together and stack.

After using fairly intricate symbols to begin with, I simplified/changed these to create a less complex set for more clarity between each.

As an exercise it was really beneficial to this current project as were are looking at presenting our findings in various ways. However, overall I was surprised at how little and almost meaningless information can be but still be transformed into something graphically orientated.

Keeping these techniques in mind and the idea of triangulation (I think), I'm going to look at documenting my pens in this manor, using - colour, type and line.
