Design is a VIRUS,
Routes to follow...

In terms of ideas, the amount of proposals we came up with probably started to become detrimental to our progress as we couldn't decide on a solid idea to pursue.

We tried to incorporate an interactive element into the majority of our project proposals, engaging with our audience to try and get them involved on some level.

In all we had about 5/6 ideas that left us undecided regarding which route to follow...

#001 Inspirational office material. -  Calendars, mouse mats, pens, desktop backgrounds are a few of the vehicles we proposed to use to get across motivational quotes and little 'feel good' things. Mostly targetted towards the '9-5 office worker' to take notice of, hopefully helping them refrain from getting stuck in a life draining routine of work, and work only.

#002 Online resource - Another idea was an online community, set up as a library of 'feel good' things, achievable little things that make people feel better about themselves. Housing our own suggestions and a platform for people to discuss and propose their own ideas on how to attain that little bit of happiness with minimal effort. Invite and share with friends, keeping track of the little things one has completed. Although not a bad idea, simply setting up an online resource for this wouldn't satisfy us as a group, let alone the brief requirements, but abouve all we found a website pretty much identical to this idea pushing us well away.

#003 Birthday Cards - A range of birthday cards from 30th through to 60th birthday cards which includes an App or blog link. The card lays down 3 - 5 new things to achieve before your next birthday. The app would allow you to evidence/share your achievements. The 'friend' could customise the challenges to suit the recipient (could get a bit 'Jackass' like for the real dare devils). The beauty of that is the friend should know what is 'new' or a challenge for their own friend.
The cards could be ordered from an online hub, where sophisticated and relevant designs would be available, relevant to the birthday or person receiving it.
Each card is personal and only really relevant to that individual receiving it, engaging on a more personal level with the user, making them more likely to take notice.

#004 USB Posters - After discovering the 'cardboard USB stick' concept, we thought about taking that forward and start thinking of ways it could be incorporated to our project. As advertisements use the little pull off tabs at the bottom of posters, usually consisting of a number or link. We proposed to incorporate these cardboard USB's as the pull off tabs at the bottom. The USB's would consist of new things for people try out and complete in their spare time. Taking the idea even further and a bit more eccentric, we thought about having small tracking systems in the USB's and as people pass them around and tick off the lists of things to do, we can see how far and wide our project has traveled.
What hooked us about this idea was the idea of having something physical people can interact and become intrigued with.
The main problem being cost and lack of availability in terms of the technology we proposed to use.

#005 DO DAY - Thinking on a broader scale, we wanted to target a majority opposed to a minority. A way to get everyone to try something new, regardless of age, profession or gender. We set about deciding a day on which people are encouraged to try something new, no matter how big or small.
In order to promote this day we will produce posters, stickers, hot-dog fold books, flyers, online groups, t-shirts?? In an attempt to make people aware of our project we shall distribute and display this material in the time running up to 'DO DAY' which we shall set once more of a solid structure is attained.

We shall take advantage of online communities such as Facebook and Twitter to broadcast the aims of DO DAY and suggest a range of new things that people could try out on the proposed day.
We want to get as many people involved as possible, and for a lot of people an incentive is usually required in order for them to give it a go. We are hoping to hand out flyers and booklets informing people of the benefits of doing new things and keeping their life varied in body and mind.
