Today's storyboarding peer2peer crit was very constructive, not only in terms of feedback on each others sequences but development of our considerations as visual communicators and technical knowledge/possibilities in the AE software running parallel to our storyboard process.
One criticism of my storyboards was a lack of annotations and directional aids for those trying to comprhend my ideas, although Joe just about managed to get the jist of all of them, so I cant be doing much wrong. This said it would definitly be alot more defined with the use of anootations. Colour was another, maybe work with colour in all of them, varying colour from sequence to sequence, whilst in the design stages.
This sequence was rather experimental, thinking about the abstraction ideas I had in the last post from arranging the the glyphs in the word 'collide', working with just simple line and shape. Joe couldn't fully work out what was going on in this one which is understandable seeing as I've left it quite vague, not delivering the concept as well as I could.
I just wanted to post this picture of Joe's sequence for spin as I thought it could turn out rather well, we discussed different possibilities of the entrance and exit mehtods for the 'spinning yarn' along with colour possibilities. I hope to see him realise this idea on AE for an out come for the silent movie brief.
Things we touched on/considered...
- Colour flash on impact
- Photo window
- 'Growing' line/stronke along a path
