Problem Analysis - Rationale.
Brief
Produce an edition of 5 of visually engaging books based upon one of the following criteria; colour, type, shape, sound. All areas need to be explored before narrowing down to a single area to elaborate on.
Who needs to know:
People generally interested in books and publishing, more specifically people going to this years book fair.
What do they need to know:
They need to know what is being delivered, the content of the book.
Why do they need to know:
They need to know as soon as they have picked the book up through a visual engagement with it, they need to know and understand the content.
What will they respond to:
They will respond to the physical attributes of the book, how it opens and interacts with the user. Also to the image and content, what will they glean from the book?
What research is required:
Primary:Research into all four of the briefed criteria, research into bookmaking methods alongside printing and costing which all becoming relevant when looking at selling these for profit.
Secondary:
Matt Tucker and myself have decided to approach this brief areas. Once we have our individual responses, it is our idea to then take the strongest/most passionate area from each of findings and combine these together to create the books.
