AE Visualizzzzer

Another way I've found of visually representing music is through after effects, its a pretty basic technique but produces some really nice results. The video below is a small snippet of one of the songs we've been working with - "Nigtmares on Wax:Ethnic Majority".

It's effectively the same visuals as our digital experiment #1 using the sound wave imagery. We were contemplating using it as another experiment but as it is a similar aesthetic it might just be more appropriate to use it within the motion graphic. Maybe have the whole song running though the bottom as and when they change, that's still to be decided but I'm definitely going to incorporate it somewhere.

After playing around for an hour or so (once getting AE CS6 to work without malfunctioning every 5 minutes) I came up with this little composition exploring the different effects within this generation tool.

I'm not particularly pleased with the part in which the bars start to expand and heavily blur, but once it hits the last 7 seconds or so, the glitchy blue and white waveforms work really well, more along the aesthetic line we've been working towards.
