How to... Fully engage with your flatmatesInitial ideas...

We received the vague group brief of 'making friends', a topic strongly associated with starting university and especially moving into halls. After long deliberation amongst the group and various ideas metaphorically thrown around, we finalised on the brief entitled 'How to fully engage with your flatmates'.

As individuals, we responded to this question in various ways, collating our ideas on A2 paper (pictured above and below) we stated to uncover a general direction towards solving our problem. We settled on three main ideas to promote flatmate interaction and 'making friends'.

• Our first idea was a case of producing evocative flyers, stickers and posters encouraging students to be friendly, smile, and above all make friends. As an answer to the brief, we felt as though this wasn't as in depth as we had initially planned.
• The second was a concept to bring together newly acquainted flatmates by presenting them with a section of a flyer that when collated with all other flatmates, would gain free entry/round of drinks at a certain club.
• The third idea which we decided to settle upon was a 'come dine with me' esque idea promoting not only conversation and friendship to occur but healthy eating, also another issue associated with freshers students.
