Kicking off my thoughts focusing on B...

Considering sequence. The idea of using various sized squares to build up a letter form (relating to imagery researched here).
Developing this idea, I started sketching up the frames on A6 sheets to gain a feel of how they would look, soon realising this wasn't an idea I wanted to take forth anymore. Also because the final letter form wasn't related to any existing type face.

3D 'B' experimenting with shape and legibility.
The faces of the blocks creating the top shape grabbed my attention, cropping back parts of the letter, constantly keeping legibility in mind.

The sections making up the letter reminded me in this image and the one before started to remind me of Air fix model kits. Holding parts of the letter together in a grid.

Working on the 'Air fix' idea, I sketched up a more detailed image using my own shapes to create the letter form...

Two images of 'Air fix' modelling kits, relating to my letter forms. To the left a regular example and
the right a more innovative idea
of the concept.
Further sketching using Helvetica bold as the type to work from. I preferred the hand-drawn shapes I produced earlier, encouraging me to use standard Helvetica and increase the radius on the ends of each section of the letter.
