Photoshop Brief,
Postcards,

Again using a preset, this time 'Stained Glass' from the 'Texture' group I wanted to work in a more abstract fashion with the images. Rather than simply applying this effect so the image is still acknowledgeable, I heavily distorted it using 'Broder Thickness' and 'Cell Size'.

As the cell size starts to become smaller, and the boarder with broadens, a series of small speckled shapes start to appear, covering the canvas. How dispersed or tightly knit these little shapes are depends on the boarder width.

As these postcards are a result of working with our photographs from colour theory workshops, I feel boiling each image down into simple shape and colour is an appropriate route to follow. Once 10 postcards in the same style are collected and printed they could turn out as a really tidy set.

My only apprehension towards this style is that process is fairly simple. Although I shall try and work some text into the set and of course produce the reverse side as a standard postcard layout, I don't want them to appear too 'effortless' so to speak.
