Ive started the search for another word to work with, but I want to steer clear of the more obvious; NikeColour/Drip/Spray/Art etc.
I took a fair few of the words and translated them into various languages, in the hope to find some letters/words that work compositionally and roll off the tongue fluidly...
Cropping down the mass of words, picking 8 from various stages of the process. I wanted to get an idea of how each word would sit next to the name 'Nike' visually and in turn get a feel of how they sound when spoken..
The 3 that jumped out at me; NIKE-CRM / NIKE-TNT / NIKE-CROMO all have certain elements that feel right. I don't like how CRM and TNT are letters and can't be spoken, taking an element of identity away with all the numbers and codes we have to remember. I do however prefer the shortness of the 3 letter examples, against CROMO maybe being slightly elongated?
TNT sounds as though it could be familiar to the spray paint market, the names used are usually quite industrial and strong, on the other hand I feel it is a bit too playful for this product, especially coming from Nike.
CROMO relates back to colour and chromatic value, a big part of selecting and manufacturing spray paint, one of which a product, again coming from nike would want to be renowned for.
So I think I'm going to roll with NIKE-CROMO, the main swaying points for me are the relation back to colour/chromaticity and it being a spoken, identifiable word
