The type side of my idents is really quite restricted in terms of trying to achieve a realistic response.
The chanel Dave almost certainly use Clarendon for all of their information text, and some of their programme names, altough they do use quite a bold sans-serif font for some of their programmes, ie. suits that''s been documented here.
I've fully decided to go ahead with the name 'Arcade 80's', as I think it has more of a TV ring about it. So I tried experimenting with Clarendon for the title at first, but all the type in the same font didn't look professional at all so looked for the closest match to the kind of font used in the aforementioned post link.
It worked well, my only worry now is the solid colour background. As I mentioned before Dave are commonly using surreal photorealistic scenes in their Idents and programme adverts, an aesthetic I can't really achieve in any grat detail.
Other than just using black I wanted to mess around with other really rich and deep colours, here I've been working on purple which probably does work the best, with dave using it quite predominatnyl in some of their visuals...
