These are the first set of flyer/poster designs in which I've applied type to the artwork I've been working on over the past week or so. Seeing as the night is called 'LOCO' and house music is generally quite abstract and vibrant, the restrictions are minimal with regards to the addition of type.
Although they are quite abstract in terms of type, I've added tilde's between artists that start to repeat in certain directions hinting at the idea of pattern, which can be considered to be another strong aspect of house music.
I think colour is a very important element with these designs, I want them to be vibrant, standing out and being a bit crazy like the nature of the name suggests. When I first exported the .pdf a fair few of the designs came out black and white but actually looked really nice, I think I shall explore black and white a bit more, still alongside colour, but maybe simple use of vibrant spot colour overlayed. - colour could be a financial factor when the designs go to print so it would be worth designing for if the problem occured...
