Had a reassuring personal tutorial today with Amber, left me feeling confident about the state of my current briefs and that there is still a sufficient amount of time left for production.


The collaboration between Matt and myself is still yet to commence, however we are confident the research is there and we have ideas floating around that we can soon materialise.


I want to have the majority of both my COTT&FLYER brief and my side of the LOCO brief out of the way by mid next week, leaving time to focus on the practical and production sides of CYMATICS and 80 YEARS ON.


Speaking to Amber, the point of a competition brief was raised. I was explaining how I had combined two ISTD briefs together and was trying to deliver a single response to this hybrid brief I thought was a good idea.




At the time I realised my planned response is a perfect resolution to the 80 YEARS ON brief alone, and that it already allows exploration with format, layout and type. It seems silly trying to constantly be flicking between to brief concepts. Also, as we are being asked to complete a competition brief, I thought it would make more sense to stick to one simple brief without confusing things.

With regards to my other briefs, I feel I've made a good progress with the luxury fashion brand COTT & FLYER, finalised the logo and started applying it to a range. I'm waiting on stock orders in order to start compiling the finalised deliverables, which should arrive start of/mid next week.

I have generated a fair amount of artwork for LOCO and again the range will need to be expanded on throughout print and web, much like COTT & FLYER. As the night isn't going ahead until January I'll be mocking up certain aspects as and where I need to.
